Good morning crafty friends. I am back with another card using an adorable stamp set by Create A Smile. It's basically a snowy body and you have a choice of different snowy critter heads. And because I couldn't decide which head I wanted to use...I just used all of them!
I wanted to create a card where the recipient is able to move a wheel.
So I went ahead and cut a rectangle piece of white cardstock which also
included an oval which was large enough to fit the reindeer head inside.
Below the oval I stamped the body of the critters with Memento Tuxedo
black ink. I also cut a large circle out of white cardstock which was
about 1cm larger than the width of the rectangle so the recipient would
be able to move it. On this circle I stamped all four heads, again with
Memento Tuxedo Black ink.
I covered the body and the heads with pre-stamped and pre-cut masks because I wanted to apply Tumbled Glass distress ink to give the snowy critter a light background. I applied the color on the front panel around the body as well as on the complete circle.
After the ink was dry I removed the masking paper and colored in the images with Spectrum Noir markers (BT1, BT2, BT3, BT4). Before assembling the card I also stamped the sentiment "there's snow friend like you" on the top center of the front panel using Memento Bahama Blue ink.
Then it was time to assemble the card. I temporarily adhered the front panel on the bottom to a card base. I slipped the circle in between to layers of paper, adjusted its position and traced around the circle with a pencil. I poked a whole in the center of the circle as well as the card base and used a brass fastener to connect both layers. Now you are also able to move the circle around easily.
I used foam tape and foam squares on the area around the circle. I needed a bit of space because the head of the brass fastener was quite thick. After applying the foam pieces I was able to position the front panel on top of the circle.
Please check out the video of the card "in action" at the bottom of this blog post.
