Happy Insta Girls - Nikolaus Blog Hop
Hello everyone, welcome back to another Happy Insta Girls Blog Hop! We are a group of crafty girls who met on Instagram and want to share our projects with you that we made for a specific theme. And because today is Saint Nicholas' Day (and therefore almost Christmas!) we sent each other Christmas cards! You will find the whole Blog Hop structure at the bottom of the post.
This time I received a card from Birka! And I have to say that it is just wonderful! It's a folded card which is held together by this cute Christmas paper band. And when you open the card you will be greeted by a whole herd of reindeers! I especially love the background and the red and blue color combination!
And there is something special about this blog hop. This time we also had to find (ugly?) crafty stuff that we bought but never used and send it with the created card. The task will be to create another card with all the stuff that we received. So let's take a look at the stuff that Birka send me.
I've got red pattern paper, some butterfly stickers, black and white ink, two rolls of washi tape, some stamps and white and brown pearls. I actually wasn't to flabbergasted (haha, I love this word!) and hope that I can create a descent card with all my new goodies :) But Birka also send me a consolation gift which was this cute pack of candy and some nice tags! Thank you so much!!
My task was to create a card for the lovely Anni. She always makes such adorable and beautiful cards and I knew I had to do something I have never done before. I found some great tutorials on YouTube by crafters who made interactive cards. And after the really fun slider cards I made before, I was hooked immediately. So I decided to make a peek-a-boo card (you can find an example tutorial here). The funny thing about a peek-a-boo card is, that the images in the "windows" of the card change when you open up the card.
It took me some time to figure out the mechanism and tried to make a template for my Brother Scan'N'Cut. After a test cut I was able to make one with three little circle windows. If you are interested in the file, feel free to download it:

The template was created based on the card tutorial that I mentioned earliert.
To decorate the front of my card, I used images by Lawn Fawn, Create A Smile, and Mama Elephant. I stamped them on white cardstock and colored them in with Spectrum Noir markers. The German sentiment is from a sentiment set from Danipeuss.
As you can see, when you open up the card, the snowmen that you see on the closed card will change into a little santa and his reindeers.
Now it's time to hop over to Anni's blog to find out what she thought of my card and the stuff that I sent her! Thank you for stopping by!
