For the background I used Canson mixed media paper. I pressed Cracked Pistachio, Pine Needles, Peacock Feathers and Mustard Seed Distress inks on a slick surface, spritzed them with water and pressed my paper into the ink a couple of times, drying it in-between. For the splatters of color I used Gansai Tambi watercolor #30. But somehow I wasn't enjoying the background in combination with the monkey. It was far to bright. So I decided to put some vellum over it. I cut a circle from both the background and the vellum and adhered it together.


I didn't have a sentiment to go with the monkey so I just wrote down the phrase "You're loved" in a nice font, switched the color to a dark red and printed it on vellum. And I really love that look!  I cut it into a thin strip and cut out a triangular shape on one side.
To assemble the card I adhered the circle in the center of the card and the sentiment below it on the left side. At first I wanted to place the monkey directly in the center of the circle but it didn't look right for me. When I moved him down a little bit it somehow looked much nicer. For finishing touches I also placed some red enamel stickers on the card.

Heute zeige ich euch eine Geburtstagskarte, die ich mit Stempeln von Create a Smile und Hero Arts gemacht habe. Zurnächst habe ich das Sentiment Glückwunsch mit Versamark auf Aquarellpapier gestempelt und mit Clear Embossingpulver von WOW embosst. Aus Postittape habe ich mir ein Oval geschnitten, um eine Maske für den Hintergrund zu erstellen und über das Sentiment geklebt. Anschließend habe ich den Tiny Hearts Hintergrundstempel ebenfalls mit Versamark gestempelt und clear embosst.
Danach habe ich zum ersten Mal meine Kuretake Gansai Tambi Aquarellfarben ausprobiert. Ich finde sie wirlich sehr schön, aber ich muss sagen, dass die getrockneten Farben meiner Meinung nach weniger intensiv sind als Distress Ink. Was natürlich nicht schlecht ist, je nachdem, was man für ein Resultat erzielen möchte. Ich habe die Farben 139, 38 und 66 verwendet und versucht einen Übergang von Lila zu Blau zu erzeugen.
Dieses mal habe ich eine quadratische Kartenbasis verwendet und das Frontpanel mit einem fliederfarbenem und blauen Panel auf der Karte befestigt. Zum Abschluss habe ich noch meine DIY Enamel Dots in zwei verschiedenen Lilatönen aufgebracht.



Today I want to show you a birthday card that I made with stamps from Create A Smile and Hero Arts. First, I stamped the sentiment on watercolor cardstock with Versamark and embossed it with clear embossing powder by WOW. Using post-it-tape I created an oval mask to protect my sentiment and stamped the Tiny Star background, again using Versamark and clear embossing powder. 
Then, I tried my Kuretake Gansai Tambi colors for the first time. I really like them but I have to say that the colors aren't as intense as Distress Inks after they have dried. Which is of course not a bad thing, depending on what you want. I used 138, 38, and 66 and tried to create a transition from purple to blue. 
This time I used a quadratic card base and adhered the front panel with a lavender and blue panel behind it. To finish the card, I adhered my DIY enamel dots in two different purple shades.

Passend zu Wein und Blumen gab es natürlich auch noch eine Glückwunschkarte für meine Eltern zum Hochzeitstag. Für die Karte habe ich die zwei neuen Sets "Tandem Ride" und "Tandem Extras" von Mama Elephant verwendet, ebenso wie "Claire's ABCs" von Lawnfawn, um mir mein Sentiment zu erstellen. Ich werde in dieser Beschreibung nicht so sehr ins Details gehen, da es wieder ein Videotutorial gibt (siehe unten).
Nachdem ich meine Motive mit Archival Jet Black Ink auf Aquarellpapier gestempelt habe, habe ich sei mit Zig Clean Color Real Brush Pens koloriert. Für den Hintergrund habe ich Salty Ocean und Mermaid Lagoon verwendet, wobei ich anfänglich dachte, dass sich die Farben stärker voneinander unterscheiden. Ich habe die Farben nicht sehr stark geblendet, da ich fand, dass man so ein wenig das Gefühl von Wolken vermitteln kann. Anschließend habe ich den Hintergrund noch mit Wasser bespritzt.
Mit meinem Plotter habe ich einen weißen Rahmen ausgeschnitten, wobei der untere Rand etwas größer war als die restlichen Ränder, um dort mein Sentiment platzieren zu können. Dieses habe ich mir mit Claire's ABCs erstellt und zusammen mit einem Stempel von Create A Smile "Glückwunsch zum Hochzeitstag" mit Blue Ribbon Dye Ink gestempelt.
Anschließend habe ich den Hintergrund auf eine Kartenbasis geklebt und den Rahmen mit Foam Tape darüber befestigt. Nun musste ich nur noch meine Motive ebenfalls mit Foam Tape befestigen. Abschließend habe ich noch ein paar meiner selbstgemachten DIY Enamel Dots auf den Hintergrund geklebt.
 

 Besides wine and flowers my parents also got a card for their wedding anniversary. I used to new stamp sets by Mama Elephant "Tandem Ride" and "Tandem Extras" as well as "Claire's ABCs" from Lawn Fawn. I wont go to much into detail because I also made a video tutorial (see below). 
After I stamped my images with Archival Jet Black Ink onto watercolor cardstock, I colored them with Zig Clean Color Reach Brush Pens. For the background, I used Salty Ocean and Mermaid Lagoon, but I thought they would contrast more (but they didn't). I didn't blend the colors too well because I thought the blotchy colors create the feeling of clouds. Then, I stamped the panel with some water.
Using my cutting machine I cut out a white frame with a larger border at the bottom to stamp my sentiment on. I used Claire's ABCs to create the German sentiment "Glückwunsch zum Hochzeitstag" (congratulation to your wedding anniversary) with Blue Ribbon Dye Ink.  I used a stamp by Create  A Smile that says "Glückwunsch" as part of my sentiment.
Then, I adhered the background to a card base and adhered the frame on top of it using foam tape. I also adhered the images with foam tape to the card. To finish off my card, I glued some of my DIY enamel dots to the background piece.

Dieses mal eine wirklich einfache und schnelle Karte. Auf weißes Papier habe ich mit Blue Ribbon Dye Ink den Hintergrundstempel von Tim Holtz stempelt und  Classic Cherry Ink habe ich das ein passendes Sentiment, hier "Hello Friend", auf die noch weiße Stelle gestempelt.
Das Frontpanel habe ich mit Moosgummi auf etwas größeren dunkelblauen Karton befestigt und abschließend meine selbstgemachten Enamel Dots verwendet. Die Farben passen wirklich perfekt zu den Stempelfarben.

Today I show you a quick and simple card. On white card stock I stamped the background stamp by Tim Holtz using Blue Ribbon Dye Ink and used a suitable sentiment, here "hello friend", and stamped it with Classic Cherry Ink.
Using fun foam, I adhered the front panel to a larger dark blue panel to give it some dimension. Then, I used some of my DIY enamel dots - the colors match perfectly. 

Heute habe ich mich einmal ans DIY Enamel Dots gewagt. Auf Youtube habe ich viele Videos dazu gefunden und nachdem ich mir endlich Perler Beads bestellt habe (andere deutsche Marken haben überhaupt nicht funktioniert), habe ich es heute in Angriff genommen.
In einer Anleitung hieß es, dass man helle von dunklen Perlen voneinander trennen soll, da die dunkleren angeblich länger brauchen, um zu schmelzen. Ich habe davon nicht viel mitbekommen, nur die schwarzen Perlen brauchen definitiv länger als andere Farben. Alles was man machen muss, ist, die Perlen auf Backpapier zu stellen, sodass die Öffnung nach oben zeigt. Den Backofen auf 125 Grad (ich hatte nur Ober- und Unterhitze) vorheizen und das Blech voller Perlen dann für gute 30 Minuten in en Ofen schieben. Kurz nach dem Backen kann man diese vom Backpapier lösen.
Und fertig sind die Enamel Dots.  Ich muss sagen, dass sie wirklich eine schöne Form (~5-6 mm Durchmesser) haben und die Farben der Perler Beads sind wirklich genial.

Today I wanted to try the DIY Enamel Dots. There are a lot of videos on Youtube and after I ordered some Perler Beads I was ready to try it myself (I tried other German brands but they didn't work). 
One instruction said to separate light from dark colors because dark colors tend to take longer. After I tried it out today, I only noticed the black ones taking longer than the rest. All you have to do is place the beads on parchment paper with the opening facing up. Preheat your oven to 250 °F and bake the beads for 30 minutes. 
And ready are your enamel dots. I have to say that I really like the outcome, they have a nice shape (~5-6mm diameter) and the colors are great!

Aus dem ausgeschnittenen Goldfischglas der ersten Karte habe ich noch eine zweite Karte gemacht. Man soll ja immerhin nichts wegwerfen!
Zunächst habe ich mit Distressinks (Salty Ocean) das Goldfischglas koloriert und dabei die Farbe hin zur Öffnung heller werden lassen. Auf weißem Karton habe ich die zwei Fische aus dem CAS Set "Underwater Love" mit Memento Tuxedo Black Ink gestmpelt, ebenso wie etwas Gras aus einem Lawn Fawn Set und anschließend mit Spectrum Noir Markern ausgemalt (Fisch: OR1, OR2, OR3, CR9, DR2 und Wink of Stella auf den Flossen; Gras: LG5, DG3) und auf das Fischglas geklebt. Zur Verzierung habe ich noch die Blasen mit Blue Ribbon Dye Ink über die beiden Fische gestempelt. Das Goldfischglas wurde dann in der Mitte der Karte befestigt.
Als Sentiment habe ich ebenso von einem CAS Set mit Soft Cantaloupe Shadow Ink gestempelt. Da sie farblich so schön zum Shadow Ink passen, habe ich die Enamelsticker von CAS verwendet. Abschließend habe ich mit Glossy Accents das gesamte Fischglas überzogen, damit es wie aus Glas wirkt.


I decided to make a second card out of the leftover goldfish bowl from my first card. First, I colored the goldfish bowl using Salty Ocean distress ink and tried to fade it out towords the opening of the fish bowl. On white card stock I stamped the fish from the CAS set "Underwater Love" and some grass from a Lawn Fawn set using Memento Tuxedo Black Ink and colored them with Spectrum Noir markers (Fish: OR1, OR2, OR3, CR9, DR2 and some Wink of Stella on the flippers; Grass: LG5, DG3). Then, I glued them on top of the fish bowl and adhered it in the middle of a card base.
The sentiment "Hallöchen" means somthing like "Hello there!" and was stamped with Soft Cantaloupe Shadow Ink. Because the colors match, I used some CAS enamel stickers as well. Completing the card, I used Glossy Accents on the whole fish bowl to make it look like glas.
