Thank you!

Hi everyone, it's time for another challenge on the Simply Create Too Challenge Blog! This time it's all about "Thank you!". 

For this challenge I wanted to challenge myself to create a CAS card. I am always struggling with CAS cards, I guess it's too much white space for me :)


I used this beautiful stamp set by Clearly Besotted! It has so many adorable little birds in it which are super easy to color. I colored mine with Zig Clean Color Real Brush markers and a brush.
I also die cut the word "thanks" with the Scripty Thanks die by lawn fawn from black cardstock.


To assemble my cards, I first adhered the die cut thanks to a white squared note card and applied a thick layer of glossy accents over it. After everything was dry, I stamped the second part of the sentiment "for everything" which is from a thank you set by Create A Smile. To finish off the card, I adhered the different birds on top of the thanks facing eachother with 3D foam squares for a little bit of dimension.

Reach for the stars (CDD May Release Day 4)

Hi Everyone! Welcome to Craftin Desert Divas Day 4 of our May Release Showcase!

The last few days we highlighted our new products by sharing the fabulous Design Team's projects for each stamp set! Today is the last day and the products will be in the shop tomorrow. We have 6 new stamp sets, 1 new die & 3 new sequin mixes.

Today we are showcasing the Adventure Awaits and Adventure Land stamp sets. I used both sets to create a galaxy theme but the sets are so versatile. You can create so many different scenes with them. I started off blending different Distress inks on watercolor cardstock, trying to overlap them and making them darker with a a dark blue and black ink. Then, I spritzed it with water. Since the ink reacts with water it will be lifted off when dabbing the water away. This was the first layer of stars.  I also used white acrylic paint, Perfect Pearls "Pearl" and Gansai Tambi #95 and spritzed it on the panel with a brush. After everything was dry, I die cut it with the largest scallop frame from the Fancy Frame die set (http://craftindesertdivas.com/fancy-frame-dies/).

I used the astronaut from the Adventure Awaits set as well as the little UFO from the Adventure Land set, stamped them on watercolor cardstock and colored them in with Zig Clean Color Real Brush markers.

The sentiment is from the soon to be released This & That sentiment set. The whole sentiment is "Reach for the stars even if you have to stand on a cactus" but I only needed the first part of the sentiment. I stamped it on white card stock with black ink and die cut it with one of the soon to be released Flag Banner dies.

To assemble my card I adhered the galaxy panel to a top-folded white notecard. I adhered the astronaut with 3D foam squares and the UFO actually wobbles. I used some wire and wound it around a pencil to create a spring and adhered it both to the UFO and the background. Last but not least I also adhered the sentiment to the top part of the card.

Thinking of You (CDD May Release Day 3)


Hi Everyone! Welcome to Craftin Desert Divas Day 3 of our May Release Showcase!

For the next few days we are going to highlight our new products by sharing the fabulous Design Team's projects for each stamp set! We have 6 new stamp sets, 1 new die & 3 new sequin mixes that will be available in the shop starting this Friday!

Today we are showcasing the Prickly and This & That stamp sets. I made a card for you featuring the This & That sentiment stamp set.
To create this card I used along the new This & That sentiment set an older set called Panda Pals (http://craftindesertdivas.com/panda-pals/). I stamped the panda with black ink and colored him in with watercolor markers. I also stamped a little heart from the Wildly Cute (http://craftindesertdivas.com/wildly-cute/) stamp set with red ink.


To ground the little panda, I applied green color to mix media paper and die cut it with one of the scallop circle dies from the Stitched in Circles die set (http://craftindesertdivas.com/stitched-in-circle-dies/). To give it a little bit more texture, I spritzed it with water and dabbed it off after a few seconds. Because the water is reacting with the ink, the ink will be lifted from the paper giving it a really nice effect. 
Since I wanted to emboss the sentiment thinking of you in gold, I wanted to incorporate this color a second time. I embossed a larger area on white card stock with gold embossing powder and die cut the wreath from the same die set from it. 

To assemble my card I adhered the wreath to the green scallop circle and also adhered the panda to it using 3D foam pads. On a white notecard, I embossed the sentiment in gold and placed the circle in the bottom left corner. 

The This & That sentiment set will be revealed on Friday.
