Christmas Slider Card
Welcome
back fellow crafters. As promised, here is the Christmas slider card
that I made. I used Canson mixed media paper which really is great for
coloring with Zig Clean Color Real Brush pens. And that's what I wanted
to do for this card. Therefore, I stamped my images (which are from
different stamp companies) with Archival Jet Black ink on the paper. The
santa is from My Favorite Things, the tree from Lawn Fawn, and the
little ornaments are from Mama Elephant.
I
used the following colors to color in my images: santa - face: 71, 72,
coat: 23, 40, 60, boots/belt/gloves: 94, 90; tree - 43, 400, trunk:
60,62; background - 36
For the white parts of santa I used Liquid Appliqué which is super nice
for Christmas themed images.
I then decided that I needed a sentiment and found a nice one from Lawn
Fawn and stamped it with Classic Cherry ink.
For
the panels on the left and right I wanted to stamp a looooot of
presents and used images from all three stamp companies, masked them,
and created two large piles of presents. I colored them in various
colors, again using Zigs.
I
also included a bit of red ribbon on one of the panels so the receiver
will be able to pull them out. The sliding mechanisms didn't work as
good as in the first card I made but as long as it is working I am happy
:)

Slider Cards (inspired by Birka)
Hello crafty fellows! Today I show you a slider card. I was inspired by Birka who made two wonderful slider cards. You can also find here video tutorial here.
So, I really wanted to try this out and because I wasn't sure whether I will get this to work I started with a clean and simple card. I have also made another one which will come to the blog tomorrow.
For this card you need three panels. One front panel and two smaller ones for the left and right side. Because Birka has a nice tutorial on her YouTube channel I won't go into details here. I stamped the German sentiment "Glück ist, Freunde wie dich zu haben" (I am lucky to have friends like you) with Classic Cherry Ink on Neenah Solar White cardstock.
On the smaller panels I stamped the little fox and mole with Memento Tuxedo Black Ink and also the sentiments "Ich musste gerade an dich denken" (I was just thinking about you) and "Hallöchen" (hi there). I colored the images with Spectrum Noir markers and adhered them to the fancy plastic bag mechanism.
To be able to get the smaller panels out, I also included a bit of red-and-white bakers twine to one of the panels.
In hindsight I have to say that the paper I used was not thick enough. The sliding mechanism works fine but the panels tend to bend.

Christmas Shaker Card
I was browsing Instagram for some fun ideas for shaker cards and I stumbled across this beautiful card and I knew I wanted to re-create it for Christmas. Using the software for my Brother Scan'N'Cut I created an appropriate number of squares, positioned them and added my letters. I've made a German and English version and if you like them you can download them below.

I cut the panels out of white cardstock and adhered a large piece of acetate behind the windows (you don't want to know how many cards I had to throw away because I 1) didn't include acetate and only noticed it after I applied tons of foam tape and 2) applied in on the wrong side...). Then I used a ton of foam tape to put around the whole window frame so nothing can fall out. Because I wanted to have several shaker windows I also put foam horizontally between the windows.
And then it was time to fill the shakers. I had a lot of tiny stars that I bought last year around Christmas and I was happy to have found something to put them to use.

Birthday Invitations
Recently I made 30 invitations for a 60s birthday party that I wanted to show you today. I decided to go for this beautiful flowery scence by Stampers Anonymous which is just perfect for such an occasion.
I began stamping the scene with Versa Color black pigment ink on white card stock and embossed it with clear embossing powder. Then, I stamped the word "Einladung" (invitation) with Classic Cherry dye ink in the center of the scene and colore only a few of the flowers and leaves with Spectrum Noir markers.
I then adhered the panel on a slightly larger red one and glued everything to a white card base. These inviations are relatively quickly made but I do like the look of the rather complex flower stamp.

Happy Birthday Swirl
It's time for another birthday card round. Since my calender is floating over with birthdays in November I had to create a ton of birthday cards! I really, really like the happy birthday sentiment from a Mama Elephant set so I wanted to use it with gold embossing. I think it looks fantastic on the cards. Since I wanted to make a few of them I used different images on the cards.
I stamped different images from My Favorite Things and Lawn Fawn with Memento Tuxedo Black ink on Neenah Solar White cardstock and colored them with Spectrum Noir makers.
I stamped the beautiful sentiment on white cardstock with VersaMark ink and embossed it with metallic gold rich embossing powder from WOW. I just love this embossing powder!
I also wanted to include a gold strip on the bottom of the card. Lindsay from thefrugalcrafter said that she uses vegetable glycerin to re-ink her VersaMark pad. Because I didn't want to use my pad from a larger area for the strip I thought I would give it a go. I had bought vegetable gylercin a couple of weeks ago and applied it with a brush on my paper, sprinkled it with embossing powder and used my heat tool on it. And it work absolutely perfectly! You just have to be careful not to use too much glycerin otherwise your heat set embossing powder moves around to much before cooling down.
I glued the strip to my cardbase and adhered the sentiment panel to it using fun foam to give it bit of dimension. The images were adhered with liquid glue and one 3D foam scare for the bottom part to give it the same dimension as the panel.

Non-traditional wedding card
Hello to you all! Today I wanted you to show you a weddding card that I made for a crafty friend. Well, it didn't quite turn out the way I wanted because the watercolor background was waaaay to intense (kind of looks like flames?). But well...at least these are happy colors? :)
I stamped the three Amigos from Mama Elephant on Neenah Solar White card stock with Memento Tuxedo Black ink and colored them with Spectrum Noir markers (raccoon: IG1, IG2, IG6, IG8, IG10, fox: Blender, IG1, OR1, OR2, OR3, act: EB1, EB2, GB8, GB10).
For the background I used Canson Mixed Media paper and applied quite some water with a brush. Using my Gansai Tambi watercolors (36, 31, 33, 40) I tried to blend the colors together and dried them with my heat tool. I guess I just used too much of the watercolors. These colors are highly pigmented and for a softer touch you should use more water.
The sentiment "Happy wedding day" is from Altenew and I really like this big, big happy sentiment. I stamped it with Archival Jet Black ink after the watercolors were dry.
To assemble the card, I adhered a strip of red cardstock on a white cardbase and over it the watercolor panel. Using my Crop-a-dile I rounded the corners of the card using 1/2". To adhere the fox I used 3D foam squares. The other to critters were glued on the card with liquid glue.

I wish you a merry Christmas (Create A Smile)
It's time for another card that I made with the Snow Dance Kit by Create A Smile! Because I seem to love Kraft card stock currently so so much, I hade to to use it for this card as well. For this card I wanted to include the beautiful stencil from the kit. I used a sponge dauber and Yeti pigment ink from Lawn Fawn and applied the ink onto the card stock trying to be very gentle. If you use to much pressure, ink might pool up behind the stencil.
After applying the ink, I used a brush and brushed Perfect Pearl over it as long as it was still wet. This gives the snowflakes a really nice and beautiful effect. Unfortunately, you can't really see it on the pictures but in real life it's so so nice.
The sentiment I used is from another new stamp set from Create A Smile. It says "Ich wünsche dir frohe Weihnachten" (I wish you a merry Christmas). I stamped it with VersaMark ink and embossed it with red embossing powder by WOW.
To finish off the card, I used one of the little santas that I colored for the Daily Marker Challenge in October and places him with 3D foam squares on the card. He was stamped with Memento Tuxedo Black ink on Neenah Solar White card stock and colored with Spectrum Noir markers (hat/jacket/gloves: CR10, CR11, DR2 and Liquid Appliqué, face: FS2, FS3, boots: IG6, IG8).
