Distress Resist with DeNami Design and Farewell
Hello crafty friends, I am back with my last card as a Design Team member. I had such a great time the last couple of months! Nami is so sweet and always helpful in answering the million questions I had :)
Today I, again, used the three filigree stamps from the last release (because I just love them!). This time I wanted to create a card using the ink resist technique. For that, I stamped the floral images on watercolor cardstock. But instead of covering the whole panel, I only placed them in the bottom right corner, stretching a little bit to the lower left side and the right center. I stamped them with VersaMark ink and embossed them with white embossing powder.
I then applied a layer of water on the panel as well as green, turquoise, and yellow watercolor, trying to let them blend together and fade out where no images were stamped. I also dabbed the color away now and then to receive a lighter look. I wanted to include a bold sentiment. So I went with black cardstock and a huge sentiment that says "Liebe Grüsse" (English: best wishes/lots of love).
I also stamped the sentiment with VersaMark ink and embossed it with
white embossing powder on the black cardstock. After I trimmed in in
place, I adhered it with foam tape to the upper left corner. To finish off my card I adhered the watercolor panel to a Kraft card base. I thought the color of the Kraft paper was a nice contrast (but not too bold) to the soft watercolor.

Hippo Birthday! (Craftin Desert Divas)
Welcome back to another card I made for the Craftin Desert Divas Digi Challenge. The theme of this month is "Birthday"! And what would be more adorable than this cute hippo digi stamp?
I printed him on some Neenah Solar White card stock and colored him in with Spectrum Noir markers (hippo: BG1, BG4, BG6, BG8, BG10, hat: JG1, JG6 + IG2, IG3; confetti: gold gel pen). I just discovered this brown gray combi and I am obsessed with it!
I wanted to create a watercolor background. I used Distress Inks (Shabby Shutters, Peacock Feathers, Cracked Pistachio), pressed them onto a slick surface and spritzed them with a perfect pearls "Pearl" water combi. It creates such a nice shimmer. Unfortunately you can't see it in the pictures.
After the background was dry I sprinkled some more ink onto it. This time I used Gansai Tambi watercolors (#50, #55). To assemble the card I wanted to give the background a little bit more interst. I embossed a scrap of paper with Metallic Gold Sparkle embossing powder from WOW, cut it into two strips and adhered it on both sides of a standard note card. Then, I adhered the watercolor panel to the note card as well and attached the little hippo and the confetti with foam squares and glue dots. I cut the sentiment into place and adhered it with foam squares as well. For finishing touches I also applied some Irresistibles Shimmer to the fluffy parts of his hat and it's toes.

Wobbly Christmas
Hello crafy friends, today I wanted to show you another interactive Christmas card. I used images from My Favorite Things, stamped them on Neenah Solar White cardstock with Memento Tuxedo Black ink and colored them with Spectrum Noir markers.
For my background I used Gansai Tambi watercolors which give a really bright look. Unfortunately, I currently forgot which colors I used but I will add the information later. I put some color down onto a slick surface, sprayed it with water, and pressed my mixed media paper into the color to create this spotty look. After it dried completely, I adhered it to a slightly larger dark green panel.
I adhered down the tree and the little girl but for the santa I wanted somthing more fun. I have seen some cards using wobble springs. I didn't have any but found this YouTube video showing how you can make your own using thin thin wire. Fortunately, my local drug store had thin wire in stock. I also tried it with smaller images but because the spring itself has to be smaller, it didn't work as well as with this larger image.
I also wanted to include a sentiment I used a German one from Create A Smile, stamped it on black cardstock with VersaMark ink and embossed it with white embossing powder.

Watercolor Birthday
Hi! Today I am showing you a quick and simple birthday card using Gansai Tambi watercolors and a sentiment by My Favorite Things. This is also the first time I used the Canson Mixed Media paper and I have to say that I am quite impressed with it.
First I stamped the sentiment on the paper using VersaMark and embossed it with clear embossing powder. I adhered my panel to a flat surface to prevent it from warping too much but where I'd still be able to move it and the watercolor around.
Using a brush, I wet the paper around the sentiment, not the whole paper. I then applied my Gansai Tambi watercolors (40, 51, 55) and tried to blend the colors together. I used my heat gun to dry the color and also a paper towel to wipe away some of the excess color. Then I applied a second coat.
After everything was dry, I took my brush, tipped it in the color and spritzed it on the panel to create some splashes of color. I let it dry one more time and adhered the panel to a slightly larger dark green card stock piece.
